We stayed a fortnight in Kaminaki and had a really wonderful time. The accommodation – The Cottage in the first week, before moving down the road to Bijou – has been renovated to a high standard and you even get a little welcome pack of coffee, wine, tea, bread, milk, feta, honey and cookies!
The Cottage is a little way back from the beach (few minutes walk) up a bit of a hill, amongst the olive groves. The smell of place is amazing and you can hear chickens clucking away across the road: the whole effect is serene. The space inside has just been upgraded, with beautiful views over the sea to Albania. There’s a small pool outside though unfortunately the mosquitoes were out in force when we were there because of the humidity so we didn’t spend a lot of time outside the front in the evenings – insect repellent and citronella candles are a must!
The second week in Bijou was lovely. We loved this little property. Its perfectly positioned so you can get down to the beach for a swim and snorkel in under 30 seconds. Balcony area is great – we’d just sit staring at the view feeling like we were in paradise. It really is bijou though – it’s one room, with a nice bathroom – but you don’t really notice because the location is so amazing.
Both villas- and a number more- are run by Christina and her family, who are very helpful and friendly. Kaminaki itself is a quiet spot which suited us perfectly. This might be because the hill out of the village is pretty steep – it’ll take about 10-15 mins to walk up, possibly with a couple of breaks along the way! There is a network of pretty paths along the coast though (and of course, car rental) so very easy to get to Krouzeri and Agni, where there are a number of places to eat and have a few drinks.
Hopefully one day we’ll be back to Kaminaki – definitely recommend if you’re after a relaxing holiday!
Recently returned from our stay in June at The Cottage in Kaminaki Village. We knew the property was undergoing renovation, but were unsure how it would be as at the time of travel no updated photos were available. We were delighted to find on our arrival an absolutely beautiful property. All the updating and work that had gone into the property had been done to the highest standard and had produced a great holiday property. We have stayed in the village before at assorted villas etc but this has to be the best. The outdoor area is very nice and in late June early July the plunge pool is a godsend. Very quiet, peaceful, and private, with a view of the sea. Inside the large high ceiling living area was very spacious and cool. New full fitted kitchen with everything you would need on holiday and more. A step up to the comfortable air conditioned bedroom allows you to look out to sea while lying in bed. A full en-suite luxury bathroom with huge walk in shower is just off. A good welcome pack awaited our arrival, and we were visited by Christina and her father Spyros to ensure all was ok. We wont hesitate to return here to what is a really lovely property.
We returned for our second year at the end of August this year to stay at The Cottage one of a handful of superb holiday villas owned by Kaminaki Villas in Kaminaki on the NE Coast.
Christina the owner is lovely and is very hands on ensuring that every little detail is covered with her parents living in the small village so any immediate requirements are provided for.
The cottage has been extensively refurbished this year and is a gem with a small pool in a private olive grove not overlooked at all. The beach is only a few minutes away with 2 tavernas and boat hire etc
We love this place and have already booked for next year
